Wisdom From the Guys and Fashion Art Toronto

The guys open this week’s episode with a brand-new segment: “Wisdom From the Guys,” where each host teaches the others something new every episode. For the first instalment, Dolapo dives into a surprisingly fascinating topic - energy.

They kick things off by untangling a common confusion: What’s the difference between energy and electricity? The guys break down why we tend to conflate the two, how electricity is just one form of energy, and why our modern systems make it feel like the only one that matters. From there, they explore how we measure energy before Dolapo gets into the core of his topic: Ontario’s upcoming $1.8 billion investment in energy efficiency over the next three years.

He explains how this spend will be rewarded to companies that save energy, why our current “baseline system” for measuring savings is flawed, and how better measurement could transform the entire sector. The high-level analogy? Just like GAAP and IFRS gave us trust in financial reporting - enabling forecasting, investment, and exponential growth - a more accurate, trusted system for tracking energy savings could unlock similar scale in the energy world.

To close things out, the guys recap their night at Fashion Art Toronto, where they’ve begun filming their documentary following Michael from AMATUS GRAY. They break down the vibes, the runway, the award moment, and share a bit of insight into what they’re building behind the scenes.

Wisdom of the Day: Stronger systems create stronger futures — whether in energy or in life, what you can measure, you can grow.
